Implementation Contract for China Aided Fiji Government House Fencing Project Signed

The Implementation Contract for China Aided Fiji Government House Fencing Project was signed between the Prime Minister's Office, Fiji, and China Railway No.5 Group on Jan. 7, 2010. The Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister's Offce Mr. Pio. Tikoduoduo and the Chinese Ambassador Dr. Han Zhiqiang were present at the occasion and both made brief yet enthusiastic remarks, applauding the project as a milestone in the friendly relations between the two countries.

The project was initialed in 2008 by Ratu Josefa Iloilo, the then Fiji President and later endorsed by both governments of Fiji and China. The fencing is about 2447 meters long and expected to be completed within nine months from the commencement date.

Also witnessing the signing were Mr. Cai Shuizeng the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy and officials from the Government House, Ministry of Works and Transport as well as the Prime Minister's Office of Fiji.
