On 2nd December, H.E. Ambassador Zhou Jian met with Mr Cagilaba, Headman of Somosomo Village, Taveuni at the Embassy and handed over a donation of 82000 Fijian dollars to fund a batch of solar street lights for the Village.

Ambassador Zhou Jian said, we are all glad to contribute to the development of Fiji’s rural area. During his visit to China this passing August, HPM Rabuka saw with his own eyes China’s marvelous achievement in the fields of poverty alleviation and rural rejuvenation. China stands as a loyal friend and brother to Fiji, steadfastly supporting the development its rural areas.

Mr. Cagilaba said, the China-funded solar lights would enlighten villagers way back home at night and bring safety. We would remember China’s generosity and help.
