On May 28, HE Ambassador Zhou Jian, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Fiji, donated FJ$10,000 to the Fiji Volleyball Federation to support the Fiji volleyball team in preparing for the 2025 Pacific Mini Games. The event was attended by over 50 participants, including Federation President and Fiji Bureau of Statistics Director Mr. Kemueli Naiqama, representatives of young athletes, and Federation’s management team.
Ambassador Zhou Jian said, the donation represents the sincere support of the Chinese people for the development of Fiji's sports industry. It stands as a new highlight of practical cooperation between our two countries and reflects the friendly bond between China and Fiji. We wish Fiji's sports industry continued growth, deeper advancement in sports cooperation between our two nations, and everlasting friendship between China and Fiji.
Mr Naiqama stated that this donation is the latest demonstration of China's support for the development of grassroots sports in Fiji and the friendship between the two countries. Federation is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Embassy to jointly promote the development of sports in Fiji and China, contributing to the enhancement of friendship between the two peoples.
After the event, Ambassador Zhou Jian had a cordial conversation with the players and joined them in training.
