From October 21 to 24, Ambassador Qian Bo paid the first work visit to Kiribati after the re-establishment of the diplomatic relation between China and Kiribati. This visit aimed to implement the important consensus reached between the two sides.

During the visit, Ambassador Qian Bo met with the President, H.E. Taneti Maamau, Speaker Hon. Tebuai Uaai and other Ministers and members of the parliament, inspected major enterprises and projects in Kiribati and met with overseas Chinese.
