On 24 January, the Chinese Embassy in Fiji hosted “Embracing the Chinese New Year” reception for overseas Chinese and Photo Exhibition for the 170th anniversary of the arrival of Chinese in Fiji. H.E. Ambassador Zhou  Jian attended the event, initiated the exhibition with more than 200 guests coming from the Chinese community, Chinese students, Chinese companies and institutions.

On behalf of the Chinese Embassy, Ambassador Zhou Jian extended his best wishes of Chinese New Year to the guests. He emphasized that the Spring Festival is an important moment to commemorate our ancestors and look back on history, to look back on the achievements we made and get strength, to look forward to the future and plan for development.Ambassador Zhou Jian encouraged all overseas Chinese in Fiji to draw wisdom from the history of 170 years of the arrival of Chinese in Fiji and 50 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Fiji, inherit and practice the spirit of hard work, unity and dedication which accumulated and condensed by overseas Chinese over the past 170 years, contribute to the construction of the Chinese community and the friendship between China and Fiji.

Ambassador Zhou Jian visited the photo exhibition, enjoyed artistic performances and fireworks with all guests .The reception venue was full of festive,  peaceful and joyful atmosphere.
