Charge d'Affaires GU Yu Hands Over a New Aid to Fijian Prime Minister Bainimarama

On the Afternoon of 4th March, Charge d’Affaires GU Yu handed over a new aid to Fijian Prime Minister Bainimarama. Fijian Foreign Minister Mr. Kubuabola, Permanent Secretary of Prime Minister’s Office Mr. Yogesh Karan and Economic and Commercial Counsellor of Chinese Embassy Mr. YANG Xunlei were present.

GU said China, as a developing country which suffers a lot from natural disasters each year, sympathizes with the Fijian people on their difficulties and deeply admires the self-improvement spirit of the Fijian People on disaster relief under the strong leadership of the Fijian Government. The aid package showcases the true friendship between China and Fiji. China will do the utmost to help and support the Fijian people on their post-disaster reconstruction efforts. We believe,under the strong leadership of the Fijian Government,also with joint assistance from international community,the Fijian people will conquer the difficulties and rebuild homeland.

Prime Minister Bainimarama commended the profound friendship between Fiji and China and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the sincere assistance and support from the Chinese government.
