2020-11-03 05:45

In order to reduce cross-border transmission of Covid-19, starting from November 7th, 2020, all foreign passengers who are to fly from Fiji to China will be required to take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests and then apply for a certified health declaration form before boarding the flight. The specific requirements are as follows:

I. Test Requirements

Passengers departing from Fiji to China via transiting flight through a third country, must complete the first nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests in Fiji, and then complete the second nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests at the country where passengers will be boarding the China-bound direct flights. Passengers must apply for the Health Declaration Form at the Chinese embassies/consulates in that country where they will be boarding the China-bound direct flights.

Specimen collection, testing and obtaining the reports of negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests results must be done within 48 hours before boarding the flights when completing the tests in Fiji for the first time.

The second test must also have specimen collected and tested, and retrieve the reports of negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests results within 48 hours before boarding the direct flight to China from the country where the passengers will be boarding the China-bound direct flights.

II. How to apply for Certified Health Declaration Form

Foreign passengers must email the scanned copies of their negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests results along with their passport information page and the signed health declaration form to the Chinese embassies/consulates in the country where they depart and where he will be boarding the China-bound direct flights. The Chinese embassies/consulates will then examine and verify the above information and email the stamped certified health declaration form back to the passenger.

Passengers are required to print the approved health declaration form out and bring the form and the negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests results with them to the airport. They must present the form within its validity period to the airlines flying directly to China before boarding.

III. Reminder

Please read the requirements carefully and follow them accordingly. Failure to obtain a certified health declaration form with negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests results means you do not qualify for boarding the flight to China and will have to change your itinerary.

Please use extra caution when departing from Fiji to China transiting through a third country, or transiting through Fiji to China. It is important that passengers are fully aware of the latest policies on nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests and entry requirements of the transit country, and apply for a visa if necessary, to avoid getting stranded in the transit countries due to denial of entry or failure to get valid Health Declaration Form.
