Latest Notice on Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test Requirements for Passengers Departing from Fiji to China

(Effective from November 13th, 2022)

In order to reduce cross-border transmission of COVID-19, all the passengers should take the COVID-19 PCR test and apply for the Health Declaration Code (Green Code) before their journeys to China.

I. Test Requirements

1. A COVID-19 PCR test should be taken within 48 hours before the take off time of the direct flight to China. Passengers may choose to take COVID-19 PCR test either in Fiji or the transit place from where they fly directly to China.

2. Passengers may take the COVID-19 PCR test in any medical organizations in Fiji, and then apply for the Green Code to the Embassy, as long as the test report clearly shows the basic information of passenger, name of the organization, specimen collection date and time, and “Negative” or “Not Detected” test result. For those who take COVID-19 PCR test in transit place, please apply for the Green Code to the relevant Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General, rather than the Chinese Embassy in Fiji.

3. Passengers must present the Green Code within its validity period to the airline before boarding the direct flight to China.

Chinese nationals must search through Wechat: “防疫健康码国际版”

III. Documents Requirements

1. Passport information page

2. Travel itinerary from Fiji to China

3. The COVID-19 PCR test report

4. For non-Chinese nationals: Chinese visa/ Residence permit/ Return ticket 30 days upon arrival (apply to those who is eligible to visit China without a visa, like Fijian )

5. For non-Fijian nationals: Fijian residence permit/entry stamp

IV. Important Reminder

1. The Embassy staff will check and issue the Health Declaration Code 9:00-13:00, and 14:00-22:00 everyday. All the applications being submitted in the above mentioned office hours will be dealt with 2-6 hours upon the submission.

2. If the applications have been approved, passengers will get the Green Code. But if passengers get the Red Code, it means their applications need amendments, so they should read the feedback given by the Embassy, make adjustments accordingly, and re-submit the applications.

3. All passengers who plan to apply for the Green Code to the Chinese Embassy in Fiji are suggested to send their passport information pages and itineraries to the Embassy at least one day before departures via bjclfj@gmail.com, to make sure the applications can be dealt with timely.

4. For the babies and young children, whether they can be waived from taking the COVID-19 PCR test, depends on the policy of the relevant transit place from where they fly directly to China.
