On August 21, H.E. Ambassador Zhou Jian met with Mrs. Finau Heuifanga-Leveni, newly-appointed Head of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies(IFRC) Pacific Country Cluster Delegation.

H.E. Ambassador Zhou Jian welcomed Mrs. Finau to her new post and spoke positively of the important role of the IFRC in humanitarian affairs in the Pacific Island Countries. The Ambassador also briefed on China’s cooperation with Pacific Island Countries in health, and expressed China’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the IFRC regional office for the Pacific to contribute to regional development and the well-being of the people.

Mrs. Finau expressed that the IFRC highly values China’s important role in the field of humanitarian assistance. She expressed the willingness to enhance dialogue and cooperation with China to jointly contribute to the health sector of Pacific Island Countries and international humanitarian efforts.
